Kivulini School offers the Junior School Curriculum. We lay a strong foundation for career exploration, foster emotional intelligence and cultivate critical thinking. We prepare our champions for the three career pathways in junior school namely science, technology, engineering and mathematics [stem], arts and sports science, and social sciences. Our well-equipped science laboratory enables our junior school learners to carry out practicals, hence enhancing mastery of science subject matter, developing scientific reasoning abilities, increasing understanding of the complexity and ambiguity of empirical work, developing practical skills and increasing understanding of the nature of science. Our curriculum delivery is learner-centered, where we facilitate learning through the 5E model. The teachers engage the learners in practical activities where learners do a lot of exploration, research and projects.
At Kivulini School, we have aligned to the rationalized curriculum as was directed by KICD. In Junior School, we teach 9 learning areas which are all compulsory as per the rationalized curriculum. We also offer non-formal learning areas which help us identify and nurture the abilities and talents of the learners.
At Kivulini School, we believe in valuing each learner’s unique abilities and supporting their learning needs to the greatest extent possible. Our inclusion programme is more than just a service for learners with developmental delays; it embodies effective practices that foster learning and development in community settings alongside their typically developing peers.
